This is a clip of me walking outside on a layer of ice. Underneath is water. When i step it sounds as if the ice will give, towards. 1:10 it makes crack and splash sounds/. 1:50 i actually break through the ice and splash into some water. .

A quick and dirty sound effect i put together for a film school project. You could use this as a sound effect to accompany an arm or a neck being broken, or someone falling over and snapping a bone of some sort. I used this for neck breaking though. . . But you're more than welcome to use it on whatever you see fit. Technical details:. This sound was created with a twig and some tree bark, then mixed into adobe audition. It's a recording of three emtec cd-rs being broken with bare hands. I had 3 audio cd-r that were burned useless. I decided to record their last sounds. You can hear the cds cracking and breaking, me bending them and trying to break them - they were pretty elastic - i had to learn how to crack them. So at first i had some trouble. Around 0:45 you can hear as i'm bending two cds together they squeak and crackle but don't break. The sound is not edited (hence the tag "raw") - no processing was done - i just truncated the beginning and the end leaving you everything you might need. Recorded with a zoom h2 placed on my bed. I was breaking the cds above it. There was a lot of splinters around, you can hear me fiddle with them from around 2:10 on. Originally wav 96khz/24-bit. Truncated and converted to flac with audacity.

Recording of molten lava slowly advancing forward at kilauea volcano, hawaii. The cooling thin crust of the lava and the movement produces constant popping and clicking like sounds. Some wind at the microphone disturbed the recording. Rare human sounds come from observers staying at the area. Recorded with zoom h2n, postprocessing in steinberg wavelab le (only normalization).

Crackling chewinggum in a mouth of a child. More pouring out of the paperbag into the mouth at the middle of recording with chewing. Different mouth formants. Recorded with zoom h4n at 44,1 khz, 16 bit, stereo. Without compression. Only cut low end at about 500hz to take away a little bit of breathing and denoised some backgroundnoise for more direct sound.

I crumpled some paper in different ways and cut out the noise usind audacity. Good for a stone cracking sound or simply paper crumpling. Recorded with a sennheisser sk-xsw lavalier.

This sample is part of the icefield-library. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

A snippet of myself laughing during a recording session. Recorded with an audiotechnica 4050 through an allen & heath gs-r24 in a sound-proof room at the sound studio of belgrade's faculty of dramatic arts. No processing has been applied in the form of eq or compression.
